Hans of Iceland c1920 Leather Novel by Hugo, Victor
Gorgeous "gift ready" original novel by Hans of Iceland by Victor Hugo, published by Thomas Nelson and Sons, New York. This book is part of at least eight Hugo books produced by Nelson in the set. While this copy is officially undated, Hugo's novel was already 100 years old by the time this book was published, most likely around 1920.
This was a library's book and contains the original library sticker on the inside that reads, "Book No. R-88. Date: 12-25-24. Library of Charles S. Norris, No. 313 Ninth Street, Philipsburg, Penna.". 536 pages. Features marbled endpapers on front and back, plain maroon coloured soft leather exterior, with an embossed gilded spine. Top edge gilt (teg). Book is printed on India paper. Only one illustration is present, separated by a perfectly intact tissue sheet. Measures 6¼" x 4¼" by ⅝" thick.
CONDITION: Very nice specimen. Good in boards, with slight damage/wear to book corners and spine end caps. There is an inscription written in ink on front endpaper. Inner pages are still vibrantly white and free of markings, no tears or folds. Clean, tight binding with no missing/loose pages. Fabric bookmark is present but detached.
