1950s 'Definitely Different' The Daily Telegraph Recipe Book
Somehow this lovely old recipe book made its way over to Canada: the 'Definitely Different' Recipe book published by newspaper giant 'The Daily Telegraph' in London, England. Although no date of publish was printed within the recipe book, it was purportedly produced in 1954 however it may even date earlier. Features hundreds of recipes and food ideas from puddings to preserves within its 160 pages.
This spiral-bound book also contains six full-page adverts from the era. Ads include "New World ranges", "Trex Cooking Fat", "Smedleys", "Ovaltine", "Foster Clarks", "Nescafe" and "Rayburn Appliances". Also littered throughout the pages are photos, artist sketches and illustrated examples. Measures 7¼" x 5". The 4/6 printed on the cover is the British price (4 shillings and 2 pennies?).
CONDITION: A delightful copy with some slight fading & small wear areas to the cover pages; plastic laminate is also peeling in some areas. Pages are nice & clean, free of stains and writing, no torn/detached or missing pages. Corners have some bumps. Note: There is one spot at the top where the cover has torn free from one of the binding spirals. Please refer to photos.
