Wm Rogers International Silver 28pc Flatware A1 Plus 'Cotillion' Pattern
Intricate, stylish and contemporary for the era: the 'Cotillion' pattern was originally produced circa 1937 by Wm Rogers & IS/International Silver company. In total there are 28 pieces in all - including dinner forks, salad forks, three types of spoons and a butter knife. The flatware storage box is included (although it may or may not be original to the retail set). By no means is this set 'complete', rather, it's just a collection of same-pattern flatware - great for finishing a collection, adding to a current set or repurposing/upcycling into art projects, jewelry and decor.
These silverplate flatware pieces are all backstamped, "Wm Rogers A1 Plus [I S]" (without monograms). The A1 or AI rating signifies the highest amount of silver was used in the plating process. The majority of Cotillion cutlery on the market do not contain the A1 rating.
Six different flatware types exist in this silver plated set; this set includes the following pieces:
• [8pc] Salad Fork - 6½"
• [7pc] Dinner Fork - 7"
• [3pc] Soup Spoon - 7⅜"
• [2pc] Serving Spoon - 8½"
• [7pc] Teaspoon - 6⅛"
• [1pc] Butter Knife - 7"
Dimensions: Box measures 13½" x 10½" and stands 3" tall. Weighs approximately 5 pounds (box + silverware).
CONDITION: Some very faint scratching from normal wear. Some silverplate thinning, such as on the back of fork tines, etc. As with all of our vintage items, we tend not to clean or alter them in any way. This set has not yet been cleaned or polished and is being sold 'as found'.
