Vintage Schowanek wooden basketball game. Made in West Germany, this item is what the kids nowadays are calling OOAK or one of a kind, since no other one can be found online. The object of the game is to score into your opponent's net by 'flipping' a pingpong-like ball from the springy launch pad. Taking turns, scores were kept on a slider; the first player to reach ten wins. Schowanek wood games such as this were made somewhere between the years 1927-1950, although we can possibly pinpoint this game to 1949 or 1950 since it was made in Western Germany.
A wonderful toy to accompany any game enthusiast's collection, Germany has long been renowned as a juggernaut for high quality toy production.
Condition: Box itself is in great vintage condition, however the label on the lid appears to have some rain damage likely caused when it was left unattended at an outdoor sale. This basketball game was well cared for, though, and apparently unused as the condition of the game pieces is immaculate. Check out the photos, there are twelve of them.
