Vintage 1940s Green Glass Bottle of Grossmith Smelling Salts
This vintage bottle of smelling salts was produced by Grossmith, of one of England's oldest perfumeries. Embossed letters on the glass bottom of the bottle spell out "Grossmith Made in England". Contains two paper labels to which both have "London England" printed on them. The labels are quite worn and mostly illegible; luckily we were able to find an identical example on eBay so we now know it reads "Old Cottage Lavender Smelling Salts". Grossman also manufactured a liquid fragrance in the same scent that also used a similar green glass bottle.
Bottle features a luxurious green glass colour that's formed in an art deco design. The hard cap is made out of bakelite. Date of manufacture: circa 1930's to 1940's.
Dimensions: 2⅜" tall x 2" x ⅞"
CONDITION: Bottle is in great condition (no chips, fleabites or cracks). Label is very worn & faded and is torn off in upper spot. Bottom label is still intact but also very worn. Bottle is completely full of smelling salts product and still has the original rubber plug, although the rubber has become cracked over time. The fifth photo is only shown to identify the item, and is not the condition of these smelling salts.
