Made by R. Journet & Co in London, England. Robert Journet was a cutting-edge manufacturer of ball bearing "jiggle puzzle" games; a company with a history that started during the art nouveau era all the way up until the 1970s (according to JigglePuzzle.com). The sheer originality of these great games spawned many copycat varieties from other makers - most of us can remember growing up playing some form or another of these skillful ball games.
The objective of Pigs in Clover is to get all six ball bearings into the tiny innermost ring. This particular no.84 "Pigs in Clover" game is an older production model and was made in the 1930s or 1940s, most likely pre-WW2.
A beautiful piece, great for playing but even better on display. Made of wood, cardboard, paper, plastic and glass. Measures 5" x 4" x ¾".
Condition: All original parts, good vintage condition. Green paper edging shows some wear as photos will attest.
