Circa 1950s Horner Decorative Candy Tin featuring a gorgeous colourful lithograph image of a child and her kitten in a doll's rocker. It's unknown exactly how many different Horner lithos were created during this era for their candy tins, however, this exact tin's image is unseen elsewhere. A rare find indeed - it's a steal at just $29 (CAD$).
Instead of having a jointed bottom with an edged rim around the base, this model is a one-piece smoothed base. Four cute little rounded feet on the bottom help keep this tin of sweets up from a table surface. The word "Horner" is embossed into this 1950's tin. The dimensions of this eight-sided tin is 5⅜" by 4¼” by 1¼" tall (including firmly secured lid).
Condition: The tin has small areas of patina (especially on the inside) and handling wear as well as some scuffs & scratches, minor dents and dings. Very vivid colours & free of rust, clean and ready to display. Known issues:
• Small dent near cat's eye; only noticeable at a certain angle.
• Small paint chip missing in girl's collar.
• Area of foreign red paint on bottom.
