Circa 1957 Philco Transistor Radio (Model T45) with protective Leather Case. This is a fine example of early transistor radio technology. One co-worker of mine took a peak at it and quipped, "Wow, looks like something that came from the set of Leave It to Beaver". Yeah that's about right. Features:

  • ~ Turquoise high-gloss blue case (came in different accent colours, including all-black "JC Penney model" and salmon/terracotta)
  • ~ Beautiful interior with no corrosion
  • ~ 4 tube transistors
  • ~ Operates on 4 AA cells, has a headphone jack
  • ~ All original components
  • ~ Fairly simple to restore

Condition: Has a crack (and small chip missing) to one corner on the white casing. Dials are slightly scratched as well. Leather case is in fair condition but has wear issues. It is unknown if this radio is in working condition, therefore it's being sold "as-is". For those Philco radio enthusiasts looking to restore the item, there are YouTube videos dedicated to the subject "Philco T45-124 Restoration" as well as ZincHD.com has an interesting video here.
